Sincona sale 12, lot 532

This specimen was lot 532 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 100,000 CHF (about US$129,340 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Poltina 1827, St. Petersburg Mint, H. Cabinet piece. Very rare as a proof! Magnificent brilliant uncirculated proof." This poltina, or half ruble, is listed for 1826-31. Tho not common, its price realized doesn't seem to match the catalog price.

Recorded mintage: 164,000.

Specification: 10.36 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 10.35 g.
