This specimen was lot 25369 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $5,750. The catalog description[2] noted, "Alexander I Rouble 1823 CПБ-ПД, Crowned doubled-headed Imperial eagle with date below / Crowned Four-line inscription in wreath, MS64 NGC. Brilliant white luster with sharply defined features and a touch of gold and steel-blue color around the peripheries." This type was struck 1810-26 in large quantities but is today very rare in nice condition. The succeeding type (Dav-282) is very similar but with a modified eagle.

Recorded mintage: 2,955,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
