This specimen was lot 2722 in Goldberg sale 109 (Los Angeles, January 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States: Papal/Roman States. Giulio (1719). Anno XIX. Clement XI. Beautifully toned gem with great eye-appeal. Rare. NGC graded MS-66." Berman lists fifteen different guilii for this pope; Berman-2415 has the reverse motto "PROVIDENTIA/PRETIOSIOR/EST/ARGENTO" ("The Lord is more precious than silver"). It was struck during year XIX. The giulio was ten baiocchi, while the piastra, the Italian equivalent of the German thaler, was 105 baiocchi (3½ testone).
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.05 g, silver, 0.917 fine.
