This specimen was lot 2721 in Goldberg sale 109 (Los Angeles, January 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States: Papal/Roman States. Testone, Anno XVII (1717). Clement XI. St. Peter standing. Attractively toned with underlying luster. Scarce. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated." Berman lists fifteen different testone for this pope; Berman-2406 depicts St. Peter standing on the reverse. It was struck during year XVII. The testone was thirty baiocchi, while the piastra, the Italian equivalent of the German thaler, was 105 baiocchi (3½ testone).
