Sincona sale 63, lot 1730

This specimen was lot 1730 in Sincona sale 63 (Zurich, June 2020), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$150 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Peter I. 1682-1725. Kopeck 1707, Kadashevsky Mint, MD. Very fine-extremely fine." The Kadashevsky Mint struck kopeks 1704-18 with the МД mintmark shown here. This coin is dated using Cyrillic letters, a habit dropped about 1720 for Arabic numbers.
