This specimen was lot 25564 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Isabel II gold 80 Reales 1841 B-PS, MS62 NGC, two-year type, exceptionally choice with radiant luster and little evidence of contact. An example that deserves specialist attention." The type was issued for Spain from Barcelona, Seville and Madrid 1837-49. It is the same size as the old two escudos struck in Ferdinand's time. A small head variety (KM A579) also exists for this date.

Specification: 6.77 g, .875 fine gold, .190 troy oz AGW.
