The first specimen was lot 41290 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1721-C. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. PCGS AU-55. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." The second specimen was lot 41438 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1721-C. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. NGC AU-58. From the Augustana Collection." This type was struck 1716-30 and is fairly common.
