This specimen was lot 55517 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen, 1721-C. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. Extremely Fine Details -- Cleaned. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1714-30 and is fairly common. Another 24 mariengroschen (KM A812) was struck 1715, 1720, 1724 and is rather scarcer. Twenty-four mariengroschen made two-thirds of a thaler or one gulden.
