Stack's Bowers 2023 ANA sale, lot 55510

This specimen was lot 55510 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1715-HH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. PCGS AU-50. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This thaler, struck 1714-30 for August Wilhelm, is scarce. It was the only design used in 1715.
