Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated. This specimen was lot 1539 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO: Republic, AR 2 reales, 1849-GC, assayer MP, NGC graded XF40. In 1844, a government mint was erected at Guadalupe y Calvo to strike coinage from the locally discovered Rosario vein. The mint was closed in 1850."
