This specimen was lot 71242 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Consulate. Franc, Year XI-Q (1802/3). Perpignan Mint. Napoleon (as First Consul). PCGS EF-40. The only example of the type in the PCGS census, this lightly circulated minor displays a solid gunmetal gray hue and some hints of brilliance emerging from the protected areas. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Lee Harvey on 6 January 1972 for $48)." This type was struck years XI and 12 and the Paris mint product is moderately common (52.9% of the total minted).
Recorded mintage: 33,646[2], a scarce date.
Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, decorated edge.
