This specimen was lot 3920 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €190 (about US$265 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm II. 1786-1797. Groschen 1790, E, Königsberg. Prägung für Ost- und Westpreußen. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 13, Dortmund 1998, Nr. 346. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William II, 1786-97, groschen of 1790, Königsberg mint, struck for South and West Prussia. Scarce in this quality, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck in billon 1787-98. South Prussia was the regime's name for the part of Poland around Warsaw seized in the second partition. It became part of the Grand Duchy of Warsaw in 1807 and after Napoleon's defeat in 1814, was awarded to Russia by the Congress of Vienna.
