This specimen was lot 4693 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,741 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1753, Zürich. Spruch und Jahreszahl in fünf Zeilen. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zürich, thaler of 1753, Zürich mint, motto and date in five lines. About Uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1736, 1739-48, 1751-53, 1756-61, 1767-68 and is fairly expensive. In 1798, the canton of Zürich was forcibly incorporated into the Helvetic Republic.
