SB1123-73854r.jpg

This specimen was lot 73854 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Kent. Lamberhurst. Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1794. PCGS MS-63 Brown. Obverse: Civic coat-of-arms of Chichester; Reverse: Civic coat-of-arms of Canterbury." Chichester is in Sussex, not Kent; could this piece be a mule?

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: copper.

Catalog reference: D&H-35.
