This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna, Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Venice (shown here). This specimen was lot 12208 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $1,380. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Venice. Ducat, 1842-V. NGC MS-61." This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna, Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Venice (shown here). Friedberg lists this issue under Lombardy-Venetia but it differs only in mintmark from the Vienna product.
