Austria 1843-B ducat Fr-225
This specimen was lot 1628 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,065 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Ferdinand I. 1835-1848. Dukat 1843 B, Kremnitz. Selten. Vorzüglich. (empire of Austria, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, ducat of 1843, Kremnitz mint. Rare, Extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna, Kremnitz (shown here), Karlsburg and Venice. Friedberg lists this issue under Hungary but it differs only in mintmark from the Vienna product.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
