Hungary 1843 ducat Fr-222
This specimen was lot 42346 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Ducat, 1843. Kremnica Mint. Ferdinand V. NGC MS-63. A charming Choice Mint State example that is tied with one other for the finest certified example yet holdered by NGC, with bright luster and bold details throughout. Some limited signs of handling consistent for the grade are seen, though these do little to detract from the overall appeal of this example." This type of 1837-48 is noted as fairly common. Ducats were struck for Hungary as late as 1881 and the Madonna reverse was not used elsewhere in the empire.
