This specimen was lot 1943 in Jean Elsen sale 164 (Brussels, March 2026), where it sold for €460 (about US$641 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HONGRIE, Ferdinand Ier (1835-1848), AV ducat, 1842, Kremnitz. Légère trace de monture. Très Beau. (kingdom of Hungary, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, gold ducat of 1842, Kremnitz mint. Tiny trace of a mount, Very Fine.)"
This type of 1837-48 is noted as fairly common. Ducats were struck for Hungary as late as 1881. The Kremnitz mint also struck ducats of the Austrian type (Fr-225), these have a "B" mintmark.
