This specimen is lot 1148 on Jean Elsen price list 250 (Brussels, Oct/Dec 2009), where it was offered at €2000 (about US$2960). The catalog description noted,

"NEDERLAND, HOLLAND, Provincie, AR zilveren rijder (dukaton), 1673, Amsterdam. Piedfort op dubbel gewicht, met gladde rand. Droit: Ridder te paard radié boven gekroond provinciewapen. Revers: Gekroond generaliteitswapen gehouden door twee gekroonde leeuwen, met daaronder het stadswapen van Amsterdam. Afkomstig van de verzameling J.R. Lasser en uit onze veiling 89, 9 september 2006, 95. Zeldzaam. Prachtig," (Netherlands, Province of Holland, silver rider or ducaton, 1673, Amsterdam mint, piefort of double thickness. Obverse: mounted knight rides over provincial arms. Reverse: Two lions support the arms of the United Provinces, with the arms of Amsterdam below. From Jean Elsen sale 89, September 2006, lot 95. Rare, nice extremely fine.)

Recorded mintage: unknown but likely very rare as a piefort.

Specification: 32.78 g, .941 fine silver, .991 troy oz ASW, this specimen 65.03 g.
