This specimen was lot 31614 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $8,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Holland. Provincial Ducat 1671 MS62 Prooflike NGC. Wonderful old collection toning with glassy prooflike surfaces and plenty of mint luster. A superb piece with a bold, sharp strike." This is actually a ducaton, one of a type struck 1671-72. It varies from the later and more common issue (Dav-4932) by having a beaded circle around the knight and a lettered edge.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.

Specification: 32.78 g, 0.941 fine silver, .991 troy oz ASW.
