This specimen was lot 34034 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Holland. Provincial Ducat 1664/3 MS63 NGC. A clear overdate rises from the flan above other, slightly softer, devices. A cool linen tone coats the flan, adding character to this choice Mint State piece. Highly desirable for a type that is so often encountered in lesser states of preservation. From the Coenen Collection." Silver ducats from the province of Holland are not listed as rare but are seldom seen. The type is listed for 1659-70 (Dav-4896), 1672-74, 1679-80, 1683-95 (Dav-4898) and 1735-1800 (Dav-1840). Double silver ducats also exist.
