This specimen was lot 976 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "UKRAINE: Republic, AV 100 hryven, 1998, Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine Series - Kyiv-Pechersk Assumption Cathedral, struck at the Ukrainian mint, Kyiv, PCGS graded PF69 Deep Cameo." The hryvnia was introduced in 1996 to supersede the Karbovanets (1 hryvnia = 100,000 karbovantsiv). Its sign is "₴". At present (June 2026), US$1 = 45.07 hryven. Other NCLT's of this denomination include KM 65, KM 68 and KM Pn18. Wikipedia comments,
"The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Ukrainian: Києво-Печерська лавра), also known as the Kyiv Monastery of the Caves, is a historic lavra or large monastery of Eastern Christianity that gave its name to the Pecherskyi District where it is located in Kyiv. Since its foundation as the cave monastery in 1051, the Lavra has been a preeminent center of Eastern Christianity in Eastern Europe."
