Steve Album sale 55, lot 3076

This specimen was lot 3076 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "UKRAINE: Republic, AR 20 hryven, 1997, Heroes of Cossack Age Series - Severyn Nalyvayko, with COA of issue, Proof. The commemorative coin is dedicated to the memory of Severyn Nalyvayko (died 1597), leader of the Cossack-peasant uprising of 1594-1596 in Ukraine against Polish domination." The hryvnia was introduced in 1996 to supersede the karbovanets (1 hryvnia = 100,000 karbovantsiv). Four different twenty hryven (KM 36, 46, 54, 57) were issued in 1997.

Recorded mintage: 5,000.

Specifications: 33.63 g, 0.925 fine silver, 38.61 mm diameter, reeded edge.
