Sedwick Treasure Auction 35, lot 276

This specimen was lot 276 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $4,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN, Seville, cob 4 reales, 1602 B, OMNIVM in legend, Grade 1. Solid, oblong flan with no corrosion except for part of edge, choice full cross with bold 602 date at top, choice full shield with bold full S-B to left, scarce coin (especially from this wreck). With original Fisher tag and photo-certificate 85A-267399. Recovered from Atocha, sunk in 1622 west of Key West, Florida." Cayón lists only assayer V for this date. Assayer B operated 1591-1615 but many dates are missing.
