Zwolle (1590-97) ducat Fr-210
This specimen was lot 3179 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €400 (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NIEDERLANDE, ZWOLLE, Stadt. Dukat o. J. (1590-1597). Spanischer Typ. GOLD. R Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Netherlands, city of Zwolle, undated ducat of the Spanish type. Scarce, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type is an imitation of the double excelente (Fr-129) issued by Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain several generations before. It is accompanied by a double ducat (Fr-209). Kampen (Fr-150) and Overijssel (Fr-262) issued similar coins.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
