Heritage sale 3073, lot 33760

This specimen was lot 33760 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $312. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Zurich. Canton Taler 1748 AU53 NGC. Fine strike with excellent centering and bold details, significant underlying luster and nice toning. From the Engelen Collection of World Coinage." This type was struck 1736, 1739-48, 1751-53, 1756-61, 1767-68 and is fairly expensive altho this example realized less than half the catalog value.
