This specimen was lot 30250 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $8,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland. Zurich. Canton Taler 1745 MS67 NGC, Of singular beauty and appeal for the type, shimmering brilliance layered in a fine silver patina carrying colorful touches of crimson and amber. Lustrous, well-struck, and without any handling of consequence, this finest-certified example is bound to impress even the most discriminating of collectors. From the Cape Coral Collection of European Crowns." This thaler was struck intermittently 1736-68 and is among the more common issues of the canton.
