Sincona sale 102, lot 5659

This specimen was lot 5659 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$2,412 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Zürich. Stadt und Kanton. Dukat 1727, Zürich. Sehr selten. Leicht gewellt. Fast vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, ducat of 1727, Zürich mint. Very rare, Slightly wavy flan, About Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck without change 1718-67 yet remains scarce. Quarter ducats (Fr-488a), half ducats (Fr-487a) and double ducats (Fr-485a) also exist.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.41 g.
