Zurich 1727 1/2 thaler

Sincona sale 102, lot 5661

This specimen was lot 5661 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,507 including buyers' fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Zürich. Stadt und Kanton. Halbtaler 1727, Zürich. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1727, Zürich mint. About Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1723-36, 1739-45, 1748, 1751-61, 1767-68 along with a half thaler with a city view reverse. No city view half thalers were struck in 1727.
