Sincona sale 95, lot 4671

This specimen was lot 4671 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$1,109 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Halbdukat 1727, Zürich. Selten. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half ducat of 1727, Zürich mint. Rare, About Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1718-36, 1739-45, 1748, 1751-53, 1756-61 and 1767 and is among the more available gold coins from this canton. It accompanied quarter ducats (Fr-487a) and ducats (Fr-486a).
