Sincona sale 70, lot 3662

This specimen was lot 3662 in Sincona sale 70 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$398 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton. Halbtaler 1622, Zürich. Interessante Fehlprägung: Stellenweise inkuse Rückseitenprägung. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Zurich, half thaler of 1622, Zürich mint. Interesting variety with incuse star on the obverse. Good very fine.)"

This type was struck 1622 and undated. It was the last half thaler until 1647.
