This specimen was lot 2548 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it sold for €350 (about US$443 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, ZEELAND, Provincie, AR dukaton (zilveren rijder), 1759. Vz/ Ridder te paard n.r. boven gekroond provinciewapen. Kz/ Gekroond Generaliteitswapen gehouden door twee leeuwen. Klein defect op vz. goede Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Zeeland, silver ducaton of 1759. Obverse: mounted knight charges right over the provincial arms; reverse: arms of the Generality supported by two lions. Small planchet defect on the obverse, good very fine.)"

Zeeland struck ducatons in this style 1753-93. Double ducatons exist.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 32.78 g, 0.941 fine silver, 43.5 mm diameter, this specimen 32,40 g.
