Künker sale 335, lot 4475

This specimen was lot 4475 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,701 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Karl Friedrich von Württemberg-Oels als Administrator und Vormund von Karl Eugen, 1738-1744. 1/2 Reichstaler 1740, Stuttgart. Ausbeute der Grube St. Christophstal. R Min. überarbeitet, sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Wurttemberg, Frederick of Württemberg-Oels as administrator and regent for Charles Eugene, 1738-44, half thaler of 1740, Stuttgart mint, for the St. Christopher mine. Scarce, light tooling, very fine.)"

This issue accompanied a very rare thaler (Dav-2855).
