Künker sale 335, lot 4476

This specimen was lot 4476 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €20,000 (about US$26,172 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Karl Eugen, 1744-1793. Reichstaler 1744, Stuttgart. Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit umgelegter Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies//Mit dem Fürstenhut belegtes, vierfeldiges Wappen mit württembergischem Mittelschild. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Feine Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Wurttemberg, Charles Eugene, 1744-93, thaler of 1744, Stuttgart mint. Obverse: armored bust right with Order of the Golden Fleece; reverse: capped, quartered arms. Very rare in this quality, cabinet piece, fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
