This specimen was lot 22802 in Heritage sale 3004 (New York, January 2009), where it sold for $1,035. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 1000 Lira 1978, Proof 67 NGC, FAO issue, only 650 minted. Very scarce type featuring an Anatolian bride on the obverse." The F.A.O. issue also extended to a ten kurus (KM 925, bronze), fifty kurus (KM 936, stainless steel) and a five lira (KM 928, stainless steel). There may be others but the SCWC does not give pictures for all of them, including this one.
