This specimen was lot 3850 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "Turkey. 500 Lire, 1978. F.A.O. series. Mother breastfeeding infant. Choice Brilliant Proof." The F.A.O. issue also extended to a ten kurus (KM 925, bronze), fifty kurus (KM 936, stainless steel) and a five lira (KM 928, stainless steel). There may be others but the SCWC does not give pictures for all of them, including this one.
Recorded mintage: 650.
