Künker sale 354, lot 6119

This specimen was lot 6119 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €3,400 (about US$4,732 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"UNGARN, SIEBENBÜRGEN, FÜRSTENTUM, Gabriel Bethlen, 1613-1629. 1/2 Reichstaler 1628, CC, Kaschau. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung XF 40 (4327606-002). RR Feine Patina, sehr schön. (principality of Transylvania, Gabriel Bethlen, 1613-29, half thaler of 1628, Kaschau mint. Graded NGC EF-40, very rare, fine patina, very fine.)"

This type was also struck in 1629 with both dates rare. This is listed in the SCWC as a gulden (60 kreuzer) which, in this period, should weigh 5/6 of a thaler or about 24 grams.

Specification: 12.4-14.6 g, silver.
