This specimen was lot 325 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. Tournai. 2 Souverain d'Or, 1617. Albert & Isabella of Spain (1598-1621). NGC VF-30." This type is listed undated (KM 23.1) and dated (KM 23.2, 1612-20). The denomination was struck until 1657 with the portrait of Philip IV (KM 55). Note the "TORN" next to the crown on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: 23,000 for 1616-17.

Specification: 11.06 g, 0.919 fine gold.
