This specimen was lot 71680 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "TANZANIA. 10 Senti, 1977. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Gold Shield. Some die polish in the obverse fields, a few freckles of toning on the reverse. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." Tanzania is a union of the former British colonies of Tanganyika and Zanzibar and has been independent since 1964. Julius Nyerere (1922-99), shown on the obverse, was president of Tanzania 1964-85. The brass ten senti shown was issued 1977-1984 and is not common. In 1982, US$1 = 9.4 shillings.
