This specimen was lot 72818 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "TANZANIA. 20 Senti, 1977. PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Gold Shield. A great animal type, this brilliant near-Gem presents a large array of shimmering brilliance and is exceeded by just two others in the PCGS census. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." Julius Nyerere (1922-99), shown on the obverse, was president of Tanzania 1964-85. The nickel-brass twenty senti shown was issued 1966, 1970, 1973-84.
