Sweden 1947-TS krona

Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72407

from the Mountain Groan Collection

The first specimen was lot 72407 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Krona, 1947-TS. PCGS SPECIMEN-64. A blast white, prooflike coin with blinding flash in the fields and needle sharp design detail." This type was struck 1942-50 and is common. It is debased from the prior type (KM 786.2), which was 7.50 g, 0.800 fine.

Recorded mintage: 9,124,335.

Specification: 7 g, 0.400 fine silver, 25 mm diameter.
