This type was struck in 1871-1901 after the Straits Settlements were made a separate crown colony and is scarce in nice condition despite the large mintage. This date is common for the type.
Recorded mintage: 620,000 plus 300,000 from the Heaton mint (mintmark "H").
Specification: 5.43 g, 0.800 fine silver, .139 tory oz ASW, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.
