Straits Settlements 1900 10 cents

Stack's Bowers June 2022 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72528

This specimen was lot 72528 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 10 Cents, 1900. London Mint. Victoria. NGC AU-55. Displaying entirely wholesome surfaces, this nearly uncirculated example provides charming details and a touch of mint glossiness remains." The type was struck in 1871-1901 and many dates are common, including this one. This date was also struck at Heaton with an "H" mintmark.

Specification: 2.71 g, 0.800 fine silver, 18 mm diameter.
