This specimen was part of lot 50624 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $452. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 10 Cents, 1889 & 1899. 2 pieces in lot, both lustrous and attractive. The 1899 has appealing plum toning and is graded PCGS MS-62." The type was struck in 1871-1901 and many dates are common, including this one.

Recorded mintage: 286,000.

Specification: 2.71 g, 0.800 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
