Sincona sale 80, lot 3276

This specimen was lot 3276 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 8,000 CHF (about US$9,588 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS, Victoria, 1837-1901. 50 Cents 1900, London. Very rare in this condition. NGC MS63." This type was struck in 1886-1901 and all the dates are scarce to rare. This date is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 88,000.

Specification: 13.57 g, 0.800 fine silver, .349 troy oz ASW, 31 mm diameter, reeded edge. This specimen is 13.59 g.
