This specimen was lot 75405 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 8 Maravedis, 1840. Segovia Mint. Isabell II. PCGS MS-63 Red Brown. This fantastically struck example is brimming with mint red and the exquisite detail remains charming and engaging today, long after the fall of the Spanish Empire." This type was struck at Jubia and Segovia 1837-50; The 1840 issue from Segovia is a common date.
