This specimen was lot 10706 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 4 Reales, 1777-MPJ. Charles III (1759-88). Very attractive. Light peripheral toning with some nice remaining luster. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED." This type was struck in Madrid (shown here) and Seville 1772-88. Tho priced fairly cheaply in the SCWC, this type is very difficult to find at U. S. coin shows.
