Shown is a Spanish four reales struck in 1778 at the Seville mint. Assayer CF is recorded for the years 1772-1782. This specimen was auctioned by Cayón Subastas in Madrid, Spain, on September 15, 2011, where it hammered for 160 Euros (about US$261 including buyer's fees). The catalog description reads:

"Sevilla. 4 reales. 1778. CF. Acuñación débil. Casi EBC, tono. (Four reales of 1778, Seville mint, weakly struck, toned, nearly extremely fine.)"

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.3931 troy oz ASW.
