Shown is a Spanish four reales struck in 1776 at the Madrid mint. Assayer PJ is recorded for the years 1772-1782. This specimen was auctioned by Cayon Subastas in Madrid, Spain, on September 15, 2011, where it sold for 135 Euros (about US$220 including buyer's fees). The catalog description reads:

"Madrid. 4 reales. 1776. PJ. Anv. limp. Golpecito en grafila de anv. MBC-/MBC (Four reales of 1776, Madrid mint, obverse cleaned, edge bump, about very fine to very fine.)"

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.3931 troy oz ASW.
