Áureo y Calicó sale 391, lot 1306

This specimen was lot 1306 in Aureo y Calicó sale 391 (Barcelona, June 2022), where it sold for €100 (about US$126 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1724. Felipe V. Segovia. F. 2 reales. Buen ejemplar. MBC+. (kingdom of Spain, Philip V, two reales of 1724, Segovia mint. Nice example, choice very fine.)"

Two reales were struck in 1724 at Madrid, Segovia and Seville for Philip V and Louis I. Philip abdicated in favor of his son Louis I in January 1724. Unfortunately, Louis died in August, having barely attained the age of seventeen, and Philip was forced to resume the throne.
